The new Thames & Districts Returned & Services Association began operating in December 2014. It had been a number of years since the collapse of the original RSA in Thames and there was enough interest in the community to start a new RSA. With the initial emphasis on providing support and welfare services the Thames RSA joined with the Thames Workingmen's Club to provide a home, a support office and a feature wall. The Thames RSA is a sub-section of the Workingmen's Club. RSA night is each Thursday where, in keeping with tradition, at 6.00pm the lights are dimmed and the ode is offered.

There are also two membership options available in the Thames RSA:

Thames RSA/Workingmen's Club Membership

As the Thames RSA is a sub-section of the Thames Workingmen's Club, our annual membership fees have to conform to the parent clubs fee structure. Membership fees for the Workingmen's Club RSA members are $65.00 per year. This allows members full use of the facilities. As well you become an RSA Club Card holder, and are entitled to a number of member benefits including amazing retail deals. To reedem these member benefits, simply show proof of your RSA membership at the below retailers to receive the following amazing deals.

RNZRSA Membership

For persons wishing to be members of the RSA but are not interested in full membership of the Thames Workingmen's Club there is a limited membership option available for $25.00. This membership allows for a limited use of the Thames RSA/Workingmen's Club facilities such as on ANZAC Day or Armistice Day. As an RNZRSA member, you have a "home away from home" at any RSA throughout New Zealand and can always be sure of a warm welcome. You will also be issued with an RSA Club Card and enjoy the member benefits.

While re-instituting the Thames RSA was one thing finding a home for the club which had no assets and no income wasn't straight forward. Initially, the Thames Club offered us a home but then it closed. An approach to the Workingmens Club was made and the RSA became a sub-entity of that organisation. At present we have no income from the club and pay the same membership fees but we have been able to get a small support office and have erected a memorial wall within the main club.

The Thames Workingmens Club has basic facilities. There is a bar, kitchen, dining room, gaming room, snooker and lounge area.
